My feet are aching, I can’t believe I had to perform in those 5-inch heels. But, what’s a drag queen without a long leg and a beautiful high-heeled shoe? Nothing. Aurora is all about shoes. If she could, she’d snatch up all the heels in the world and flaunt them. So, for today’s entry, I’m going to share with you my shoe collection.
Everyone knows that a pair of shoes can make or break an outfit. In fact, I’ve bought shoes before I’ve even bought the outfit because I want them to match and look stunning together. Here are some of my tips for buying shoes.
Tip 1 – Always buy your shoes on sale. Literally, I have never paid more than $25 for my size 11 (women’s) shoe. It’s expensive to look glamorous, so if you can find a good deal, snatch them shoes up henny.
Tip 2 – Rule of thumb: four inches or higher. If you can, always go for the biggest heel. The bigger the heel, the closer to Jesus. Plus, it’ll make you look taller and give you calves of steel.
Tip 3 – Limit platforms. If you’re going to buy a tall heel, I’d recommend trying to find a shoe that does not have a platform. Although it gives you a better height, it throws off your center of balance when you’re walking. A high heel without a platform works just as fine, even better in my opinion. You can dance better and your ankles won’t buckle.
Tip 4 – Love it before you buy it. I know, this shoe is only $7.99 and it’s the last pair and they’re kinda cute, but you’re unsure-but the price is so great! Don’t buy it. If you don’t absolutely love the shoe, you’re not going to wear it. Save that eight bucks for a shoe that you’re going to want to wear and show off. I have a few shoes of my own that I wish I could have just sent back.
Tip 5 – For the love of god, buy flats. I don’t care how great you think you are, or how big a 12-inch heel you can rock, you absolutely need a comfortable pair of flats. Your dogs will be LOVING you for it. There’s no greater feeling than slipping on some flats after wearing your heels for hours on end.
I hope you enjoyed these tips, and don’t be afraid to share some tips of your own! I love hearing what y’all have to say.
