On Saturday July 23, FX and Marvel released a first look at their upcoming TV show “Legion,” an “X-Men” spinoff, at San Diego Comic Con. Don’t expect “Legion” to live in the same realm as the current “X-Men” films. The series will take place in a parallel universe according to John Landgraf, President of FX.
“Legion” follows David Haller, AKA Legion, who is diagnosed as schizophrenic. As he realizes the voices he hears and the visions he has might be real, he discovers his roots and the world of mutants.
Emmy-award winning director Noah Hawley of FX’s “Fargo” directs. “Downton Abbey” actor Dan Stevens stars as Haller. Other cast include Jean Smart, Aubrey Plaza, and Hammish Linklater.
