You can’t catch this Pikachu in your pokedex, BUT you can get a nice selfie photo. The iconic electric-type Pokemon Pikachu appeared in the form of a statue in Coliseum Square Park in New Orleans earlier this week. Local police aren’t sure how the perpetrators pulled it off.
According to Anime News Network, “the statue was placed on top of an old, unused fountain, and it appears to be made of fiberglass, with a cement base.” Pikachu is even sporting a bad-ass pose.

Pikachu has taken over New Orleans! The city's cutest new sculpture moved into the Lower Garden District this week, thanks to an unknown artist. While he's easy to find, the rest of NOLA's Pokemon might be a little tougher. Head to the blog for our guide on where to find them (link in bio).
People who have taken their obligatory photos with the Pokemon mascot have dubbed the statue a “pokemonument.”
Even the dogs are diggin’ it!
The New Orleans Police department has said that is has no plans to remove the statue at this time. Pikachu approves.
