Halloween cannot get here any sooner. The decorations are on display in stores. Die-hard Halloween lovers are already planning their costumes. But what did our fellow Arizona hip-hop artist Ali Tomineek do? He made a short film titled “Creep”–a scary Halloween love story that pays homage to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” The short film dropped last night on Tomineek’s YouTube channel.
What’s “Creep” about?
“Creep” centers on two childhood friends (played by Ali Tomineek and LaNajia Jernigan) who stir up the courage to tell each other that they love each other. But before they get the chance, all hell breaks loose at the Halloween party. Dun, dun, dun!
Get to know the folks of “Creep”
With an ambitious goal in mind, Tomineek gathered an entire cast of actors, dancers, makeup artists, and choreographers through his friends in Peoria, Arizona. He first reached out to Peoria High School dance instructor Jamie McQueen and the rest fell into place.
LaNajia Jernigan, a recent graduate of Peoria HS who has been acting since she was young, plays the role of Ali’s love interest.
Shania Moreno used her creative makeup skills to bring the zombies to life. Yup, you read that right. There are zombies in “Creep”!
A group of nine dance students from Peoria High School joined the cast of “Creep.” Elsa Adame and Xavier Lebario-Sanchez choreographed the dance scene with the zombies that come to life. The other zombie dancers include Alexis Corella Gastelo, Deja Galbreath, Olivia Orona, Esmeralda Payan, Amanda Williams, Analya Romero, and Jamie Xiong.
