Maroon 5 parodies Pokemon GO in “Don’t Wanna Know” music video

While the Pokemon GO craze may be over, there’s absolutely no doubt that the Niantic Labs game app created a entertainment sensation all over the world. Even Maroon 5 decided to parody Pokemon GO in its newest music video, “Don’t Wanna Know” ft. Kendrick Lamar, which dropped last Friday.

Maroon 5 uses Pokemon GO to draw a connection between the crowds of eager Pokemon GO players and celebrity stalkers. The video stars Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine as the main character and comedian Sarah Silverman as his ex-girlfriend.

Comedians Ed Helms and Vince Vaughn also appear as an unfortunate eggplant and an exhausted red creature seeking refuge at a bar, respectively. The video is directed by David Dobkin (“Wedding Crashers”). Dobkin also worked with the rock band on their previous music video “Sugar.”

Maroon 5 is scheduled to perform “Don’t Wanna Know” on the talk show “Ellen” on Thursday, Nov. 3.
