Nintendo officially unveiled Switch, the hybrid home/handheld system previously code-named “NX.”
The accompanying video demonstrates how “the mobility of a handheld is now added to the power of a home gaming system.” The system offers single and multi-player gameplay with modular components. The system will ship March 2017.
- Nintendo says the Switch system “enables gamers to play the same title wherever, whenever and with whomever they choose.”
- According to Anime News Network, the system “offers a custom NVIDIA Tegra processor with an NVIDIA GPU, a high-definition display, detachable Joy-Con controllers, and a Nintendo Switch Dock for connecting the system to a television.”
- According to Wired, games will be sold on small SD card-sized memory cards.
- The Switch system also comes with a kickstand.
