The anime film “Only Yesterday” from Isao Takahata’s Studio Ghibli is widely unknown in North America until now. Amazon has listed the DVD/Blu-ray release date of July 5 which will include Japanese and English audio with English and French subtitles.

Daisy Ridley (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”) will voice Taeko Okajima and Dev Patel (“Slumdog Millionaire”) will voice Toshio. Other voices include, Ashley Eckstein (“Star Wars Rebels”) as Yaeko and Alison Fernandez (“Orange is the New Black”) as Young Taeko.
The semi-autobiographical Omohide Poro Poro follows a 27-year-old woman who revisits her childhood as she breaks from her busy Tokyo-based life to travel to a rural harvest. GKids brought it to American theaters earlier this year in time for its 25th anniversary. (crunchyroll.com)
