Out of Bounds Comedy Festival Opening Night

The Out of Bounds Comedy Festival is a seven-day live performance festival running August 30 – September 5 that showcases some of the best in improv, sketch, and stand-up comedy from all over the country and across the globe. Now in its 15th year, the festival will host over 500 performers in 120 shows over seven days.

The lineup this year represents the dedication to bringing new and interesting comedy shows to Austin. From an Emmy-nominated sketch troupe to the improv and TV famous.  Since its inception as an improv festival in 2002, Out of Bounds Comedy Festival has expanded from a handful of local improv and sketch groups performing on one stage for a couple of days to a seven-day festival at multiple venues featuring performers from across the country and around the world.

This year’s featured headliners include an All-Star Stool Pigeon (featuring NFL alum Ricky Williams as guest monologist), MTV’s Austin Stories Reunion (feat. original cast members/comedians Chip Pope, Matt Bearden, Howard Kremer, Laura House, Heather Kafka and Jessy Schwartz), The Latino Comedy Project presenting “Gentrif*cked” (Emmy-nominated sketch troupe) and a whole lot more!

This year, badge holders can view a variety of comedic performances at six different venues across central Austin including the Spiderhouse Ballroom, Hideout Theatre, Velveeta Room, ColdTowne Theater, The New Movement and Austin Java.
