STRÜB Residential is holding their 9th Annual Flashback, a retro dance party benefiting Explore Austin tomorrow, Friday, March 2, at The Parish. Flashback is an over-the-top dance party celebrating the music, fashion and fads inspired by the 80s and 90s, all the while creating a unique opportunity to reach Austin’s young – and young at heart – professionals, educating the next generation of philanthropists in ways of giving back to the Austin community.
Proceeds will benefit Explore Austin, an organization that equips underserved youth to make positive life choices through mentoring and outdoor adventure in a six-year program for 6th through 12th grade. This year’s Flashback will be hosted by Jason & Deb of 101X Morning Show and will feature a crazy costume contest, pog making stations, silent and live auction and more.

Flashback Founding Chair and STRÜB Residential Founder Mark Strüb started this charity event in an effort to engage Austin’s next generation of philanthropists. Along with his wife and business partner, Christy Strüb, plus help from a dedicated crew of talented volunteers, they’ve managed to throw a wild annual party that gives back to our community and encourages Austinites to live by the STRÜB motto: “Doing Well by Doing Good.”

“Man, do we look forward to this event every year,” says Christy Strüb, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of STRÜB Residential. “It’s truly a remarkable sensation when, at 1 a.m. as we’re packing everything up and loading out, we realize, ‘Wow! A room full of outrageous costumes and wicked-cool people basically just danced to throwback jams for five hours while managing to raise tens of thousands of dollars for a local charity!’ Every year on this night, the results make me pretty dang proud to be an Austinite.”
