It’s that time of year again: go to the beach, sunbathe, and enjoy the original summer blockbuster in the most terrifying way. Alamo Drafthouse’s team is back at it with their 4th annual “JAWS On The Water” event at Volente Beach Resort & Water Park. The series kicks off this Friday, June 15, and you’ll have a chance to attend almost every weekend in June & July, as well as the first weekend of August.
While at the event, expect to find great eats at Beachside Billy’s and drinks for the 21+ crowd at Blu’s Beach Bar. Once it gets dark, get in the water with your inner tube to ensure a creepy movie experience. We hear there might even be “sharks” waiting underwater to really bring the film to life. You’re sure to feel like you’re visiting Amity Island for a night, complete with a possible explosive movie ending.
When attending “JAWS On The Water,” make sure to bring the following items:
- Cash for parking (or parking pass if purchased online)
- Tickets (or ID/credit card for lookup)
- ID for drinks wristband (if you’re 21+)
- Sunscreen & bug spray
- Swimsuit
The tubes will be provided at the event, and the cost is built in to the ticket price, so you get to keep them! They have a great shark design to keep them on-theme, and this year’s tubes have gotten fancy, with headrests and cup holders. Don’t bring your own tubes or chairs, and be sure to leave your pets at home too.
Your ticket also gets you admission to the fun that Volente Beach has to offer from 6 PM to 8:30 PM. This means spots like the Lazy Lagoon, The Sidewinder, volleyball court and more are available for your enjoyment. That’s also the time to get your food fix, but bars will be available throughout the night & during the screening.
This event will go down rain or shine, so be sure to get your tickets and drift away to Amity Island this summer for “JAWS On The Water.”
