Austin’s favorite annual holiday tradition is almost here, and we couldn’t be more excited to spread the cheer! The 2nd largest event in the city, the Austin Trail of Lights is an annual event in Zilker Park that celebrates Austin’s culture and creativity, music and food, heart and soul. Presenting over 40 displays and 2 million lights, the Austin Trail of lights is the perfect event to brighten up your holidays.

Austinites near and far will soon gather to enjoy over 65 holiday displays, food trucks, and nightly entertainment while joining together with family and friends. Guaranteed to create new cherished memories, Austin Trail of Lights 2018 is a must-do during the holiday season. The Trail will be open to the public December 10-23 and offers special events throughout its duration.

Here’s the run-down, y’all.
December 1: Fun Run
The festivities kick off with their annual Fun Run, presented by St. David’s Healthcare, a 2.1 mile course complete with a Finish Line Festival and expo.
December 2-4: STARS at the Trail
During these three private nights, STARS hosts over 20 non-profit organizations and their members who may not be able to enjoy the Trail on a public night.
December 8: Night Lights Preview Party
At this fundraiser for Trail of Lights Foundation, guests get a sneak peek of the Trail before the general public, lights bites from local restaurants, drinks and live entertainment at our 5th annual Night Lights Preview Party on Saturday, December 8.
December 10: Grand Opening
On Monday, December 10, the Trail opens to the public with an evening full of festivities to follow a special opening ceremony and special musical entertainment.
December 11: Heroes Night at the Trail
Presented by Texas Lottery honors veterans and active military along with first responders in our community.
December 13: Movie Night
Fun for all ages! They’ll host a family friendly movie in Zilker Park, presented by Austin Parks Foundation.
December 16: UT Night,
Presented by The University of Texas at Austin hosts UT students, alumni and all UT fans in the community as the Trail shines burnt orange!
