The ATX TV Festival was held on June 6 through 9, 2019. Now in its eighth season, there was plenty to see for television fans old and new. Showtime’s “City on a Hill” premiered on Saturday, June 8, at the Paramount Theater.
“City on a Hill” Synopsis
The new drama is set in the early 1990s when Boston was rife with violent criminals emboldened by local law enforcement agencies. Corruption and racism were the norm and then it all changed in what was called the “Boston Miracle.”
In this fictional account, Assistant District Attorney Decourcy Ward (Aldis Hodge) comes from Brooklyn and forms an unlikely alliance with a corrupt yet venerated FBI veteran, Jackie Rohr (Kevin Bacon). Together, they take on a family of armored car robbers in a case that grows to involve, and ultimately subvert, the entire criminal justice system of Boston.
We had a chance to speak with Jill Hennessy, who plays Jenny Rohr. If you’re thinking this is a backseat role to Bacon’s character, you’re wrong! As Hennessy mentioned in the red carpet interview, Jenny has a big part to play in the series. Check out the full interview with Hennessy below.
“City on a Hill” premieres on Showtime on June 16. You can get a head start and stream the first episode that is available for free now!
