We now have a new Tomb Raider coming to the screen! Alicia Vikander has been cast as Lara Croft after numerous reports had rumored Daisy Ridley to be the front runner. This is certainly a surprise! Alicia is fresh off her Academy Award win for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for “The Danish Girl” and is known for her breakout role in the indie sci-fi thriller “Ex Machina.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “The movie project, which has Roar Uthaug (“The Wave”) on board to direct, will tell the story of a young and untested Croft fighting to survive her first adventure.”
