Sharing The Struggle with June Spence

June SpenceHello Shuffle readers!  My name is June Spence and I am a brand new contributor to Shuffle.  I moved to Austin from North Carolina in June 2014 because I was looking for more than my hometown could offer me.  So, I quit my job in finance, sold anything that wouldn’t fit into a 4×6 UHaul trailer, and headed to Austin.  Austin was (and still is) my leap of faith.

I’m not a writer.  Well, at least not in the traditional sense.  I’m a woman in my late 20s who is making new friends for the first time in over a decade.  On a Saturday night, you might find me on a date with my latest Bumble catch or at the Broken Spoke dancing with a regular.  I am bursting with advice.  Mainly because I’ve made more mistakes than most and hindsight is 20/20.  Experiences are what our lives should be all about.  I’m here to share mine with you.

To put it simply, I am exercising my right to pursue my own happiness.  I am taking chances; Making friends; Trying not to get my heartbroken and occasionally giving my mother tiny heart attacks.  I am just game for trying something new for the sake of experience.  Who knows where that experience will lead you? There is no road map or guidebook to life.  Which is probably a good thing because in all honestly, I’d probably only look at the pictures anyway.

Next week I will answer a question one of my fellow serial dater friends asked me about awkward first date conversation. If you have questions or stories to share, leave them in the comments, Tweet us at @shuffleonline or email submit@shuffleonline.net. Who knows, maybe your question will be featured in a future article.
