As if it wasn’t torture enough to wait almost a year to see our faves in Westeros, we may have to wait even longer according to showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Not only will season seven be shorter with seven episodes instead of 10, but the season will be delayed because they’re waiting for winter. What happened to movie magic y’all? Like special effects and CGI?

“[W]e don’t have an airdate yet, but this year it’ll probably be a bit later, ’cause we’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season,” they confirmed. “‘Winter is here,’ and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes anymore. So we kind of pushed everything down the line, so we could get some grim, grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot.”(Deadline.com)
At least the season six finale left us with many questions to over analyze for a year. What will the newly Queen Cersei’s first play be on the Iron Throne while Daenerys’ dragons are heading her way to Westeros? Also, we’re hoping for a Stark family reunion (except Bran, you can stay put and not bring your White Walker friends across the Wall).
While we’re waiting for season seven, check out our season six finale recap, a very cool Daenerys piece of art by Gabby Ramirez, and a real life walk-thru on a set of “Game of Thrones” in Ouarzazate, Morocco.
