It’s morphin’ time!
Saban’s “Power Rangers” trailer has officially landed! I’m sure I’m not the only one who went home after school and watched the original “Power Rangers.” I guess that will depend on how old you are, but with so many iterations over the years there’s a memory of “Power Rangers” for every generation including my 3-year old nephew who’s currently obsessed and watching on YouTube. If you happen to not be familiar with the franchise here’s a brief synopsis:
Five ordinary teenagers must team together to become something extraordinary in order to save the world from being obliterated by an alien threat.
After seeing the teaser, I was intrigued, but skeptical. The original big screen adaptations featuring Mr. Ooze as the villain were memorable and cheesy, so the bar isn’t set that high which is a plus for this latest adaptation. The new full-length trailer is promising and Bryan Cranston as Zordan in the new digital wall is a nice modernization. We didn’t see too much of Elizabeth Banks’ take on the villainous Rita Repulsa, but we’re excited nonetheless!
The Power Rangers have upgraded from ’90s to millennial lingo, but one thing remains the same, it’s morphin’ time on March 24, 2017.
