“Captain Marvel” will take place in the Blockbuster days AKA the ’90s. Nick Fury (Jackson) stumbles upon the newly landed Danvers and states he was about to throw in the towel until she showed up. I’m excited to learn more about Fury’s journey before The Avengers and his interaction with Danvers that looks like a promising and fun duo.
As Danvers states in the trailer, “It’s hard to explain” what she is and how she got back to Earth. Larson looks right at home in this first look and I couldn’t be more excited to see her helm the first female-led superhero movie. The visual effects look spectacular and not overdone. Honestly, here’s hoping the movie is as good as the trailer looks. We see Larson in flashbacks, in action as part of Starforce and in her Airforce pilot days. Origin stories are always tricky as Marvel has learned, but they are always the special one in my book because they kick things off.
This origin story looks like it’s going to be one to remember and kick some serious ass! Also, being a nostalgia fiend, I cannot wait to head back to the ’90s, Marvel style!
